Hail Dent

A hail storm can wreak havoc on unprotected vehicles at any time of year. When your car has been spotted with hail dent, you may be entitled to insurance compensation for damages.

If you have a comprehensive auto insurance plan, you most likely have coverage for incidences like vandalism, theft, and natural disasters. In many cases, all you have to do is pay your deductible for repairs and your insurance company will cover the rest. Filing an insurance claim for hail dent is easy!

In the event of a major hailstorm, or even a moderate one, the likelihood that you have somehail damage is pretty high. A good rule of thumb is to always get a second opinion. Even if you don’t see any dents, that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. The Dent Shop  (469) 233-5880

To make it easier, we will walk you through the steps you should take after a hail event. We will guide you through how to find potential hail dent on your car so you can do an initial assessment your self and then how hail damage is assessed by the professionals.

A good rule of thumb is, if you find one, there are probably more. After the storm has passed, take a look. Scan every panel slowly. The best way to see auto hail damage with the naked eye is to get to its level. Position yourself so your eyes rest right at the panels surface. Relax your eyes and slowly scan the panel from one end to the other. This technique works best on horizontal surfaces such as the hood, trunk, and roof. When you see one, your eyes will begin to adjust to the technique. We aren’t suggesting that you attempt to locate all of the dents because, with the naked eye, the task will be next to impossible. We are simply suggesting that if you find one, there are bound to be more. Read our “ size of dents damage cars” article to learn more about hail dentThe Dent Shop  (469) 233-5880

Some hail dent is very easy to see with the naked eye, like the example shown to the right. If the hail dent damage is obvious, pull out your cell phone and take pictures. Take pictures of every panel. When you do this, you are not only documenting the damage but also time-stamping the event. This way, if your insurance company decides to question the storm date validity, you have proof. These images also come in handy if your paintless dent repair or insurance adjuster has questions about the extent of your damage.
